Imbolc Prayer & Fire

In February, we celebrate as the wheel begins its turning into Spring! Though the air is cold and winter is still upon us, February 1st, Imbolc, Brigid's Day, is recognized as the first day of spring in Druid (and among other) traditions.

The stirrings of life are gathering energy just below the surface of the earth. This vitality and new growth is also kindling within each one of us.

This is a time to call in Brigid, the spring goddess who awakens the flowers and birds from their winter slumber and shepherds us into renewal and rebirth.

Join me on Saturday February 1st from 2-4pm in Swannanoa. We will gather around the fire to weave Brigid's crosses and pray to honor Brigid and this threshold into Spring. We will also take some time at the beginning of our gathering to write a bit so please bring a journal and writing…
