Ignite your devotion! Come and participate in an old and sacred tradition of tending a flame and praying with Brigid! Collectively, we will speak a prayer litany and light 19 candles for Brigid, Goddess and Saint.

About the event
Join me at my home in Swannanoa on Friday October 24th from 11:30am-1pm. This will be an indoor event.
An eternal fire burns in Ireland reaching back into pre-Christian times. Legend has it that 19 priestesses tended this fire on the hill of Kildare in Ireland to honor the Goddess Brigid and ask for her blessings and protection. When Saint Brigid built her monastery and church in Kildare, she continued the tradition. 19 Brigidine nuns tended this flame, one per night with Brigid herself keeping the fire lit on the 20th night. While this flame was put out briefly (but could it ever really be extinguished?) by the church, it has since been relit and continues to burn brightly.
