Entheogenic/Psychedelic Preparation and Integration
The English word "entheogen" is derived from the Greek "entheos," which can be translated as having "God within." Working with entheogens, psychedelics or plant medicines can open the heart and deepen connections to nature and all that is. This work has the power to shift every aspect of a person's life. The experience itself can be intense; effects ranging and varying from person to person and journey to journey. It is essential that each person feels prepared for the depth of this powerful work.
Readying the body, mind and emotional state helps to provide a safe foundation for working with plant and animal medicines. Equally as important is the tender time after the ceremony as we re-enter into daily life. Mindfully tending to this period of integration will support the individual in putting into practice the gifts of guidance and transformation received during the ceremony.
Erin Gahan Clark is a ceremonial space holder for entheogenic experiences. She draws from her own experiences with Amazonian plant and animal medicines and uses the tools of deep listening, honest reflection, yoga asana (posture), pranayama (breath work), meditation, yoga nidra (sleep-based meditation), chanting, distance reiki, music and sound to create a safe space for individuals to prepare for and integrate from plant and animal medicine experiences.
